The North Bay's high volume bow and stern, flared hull and flat aft deck ensure good performance in rough water.
The first touring kayak I have had that did not need a rudder.

Many paddlers believe that the traditional kayaks of the West Greenland coast represent the highest form of kayak development. Drawing on thousands of years of evolution, the North Bay is a modern rendition of the beautiful and able West Greenland-style boats. Like the Inuit skin-on-frame originals, the North Bay designs have a narrow beam for speed, hard chines for carving turns and maximum initial stability, and strongly upswept bows and sterns for performance in waves. The narrow hard chine hull gives a fast, good tracking boat. This type of kayak is not designed for use with a rudder. In short: these kayaks are fast, responsive, and great fun. Not a beginner's boat, the North Bay will reward experienced paddlers with speed and manoeuvrability. A flat aft deck and high buoyancy in the bow and stern makes the North Bay especially suited to rolling techniques. The ergonomics of the small cockpit are also geared towards paddlers who know how to brace and roll.

Those who may have looked at this kit previously should note that it now comes with the luxury seat as standard.

These plans and manual contain sufficient information on the cutting of the panels to make it possible to build the boat from scratch rather than a kit. This is an easy boat to build from the plans.
If, later, you decide to purchase the kit the cost of these will be deducted from the kit price.
This Package is for those building the boat from scratch but who want to purchase with one click and avoid the search for most of the needed consumables and hardware.
The package includes:
It does not include the plans or manual.
It will be necessary to purchase the hard and softwood and five sheets of plywood. We can, of course, supply these if there are problems obtaining them locally.
