Elterwater
Pram
This Pram is
designed for people in a hurry to get out on the
water. It is of a classic design with three
buoyant compartments forming the seats. It is
light enough to be car topped and short enough to
be carried whilst towing a caravan.
This stable boat
is ideal for fishing or simply messing about in
on rivers and lakes. The epoxy makes it a low
maintenance vessel where the paint (if any) is
purely cosmetic. It can be roughly treated as a
work boat or lovingly cosseted as a picnic
pleasure caft.
The standard kit
is for a rowing version but this can be developed
to become an able sailer using an unstayed mast.
The sailing option which includes a daggerboard,
daggerboard case, rudder, tiller, mast and boom
can be fitted at a later date.

The
Wherry
The Wherry is a
traditional fast rowing boat. Her handsome hull
shape reminds us of classic Thames wherries.
Observers have described her as "the most
sophisticated stitch and glue kit available"
and "the best looking boat kit ever".
She makes a splendid open water exercise shell
and, at weekends, she will serve as an elegant
picnic boat for two. The Wherry can be rowed
using normal fixed rowlocks, or a Piantedosi
sliding seat and out riggers may be installed -
and removed- in under a minute (sold separately).
With a sliding seat she displays a rewarding
speed while having enough stability for a novice
oarsman.
Construction is
of 6 mm okoume with Honduran mahogany gunwales
and knees. The Lapstitch ™ technique of
construction means that no strongback or formers
are required. The hull is simply wired together
and glued. She is reinforced along her keel with
fibre glass for abrasion protection. The building
time is typically about 70 hours.

Jimmy
Skiff
The Jimmy Skiff
is a modern adaptation of an age old design. Our
skiff sails and motors as well as it rows and can
accommodate a family of four. Due to its
lightweight construction, it can easily be
carried on your car top or hoisted onto the deck
of a larger boat. It readily accepts a small
outboard motor, and sails like a dream when
fitted with her leg-o-mutton sail. The basic kit
includes everything you need to outfit her as a
rowboat or motorboat. The optional sail kit
includes the mast, sprit boom, dagger board and
case, and rudder and tiller, see our sailing section.

Oxford
Shell
The Oxford Rowing
Shell is designed for novice and intermediate
rowers, and while it is not an 'open water boat'
it can be rowed in a fair chop. A comparison row
with one of the best known recreational shells
showed the Oxford Shell to be extremely fast and
quite stable. The design features a high coaming
and watertight bulkheads. A drop in unit (sold
separately) is used: all the rigging can be
installed (or removed) in less than a minute.
This makes car topping and storage much easier
than with most shells of this level of
performance. Construction is straightforward and
a competent woodworker should have no trouble
assembling the kit in a week.
